Direction A · Warm welcome
Design rationale
In one line: a friendly front door. It feels like someone has saved you a seat.
Design choices
- Palette: cream (#FBF7F1) and sand (#F2E9DB) rows, terracotta (#A3461F) for actions, deep espresso (#33241B) and olive (#4A5733) rows for contrast. All text pairs pass WCAG AA.
- Type: Fraunces for headings. Figtree for body text at 17px.
- Photo-led: large, rounded photo placeholders sit next to the teaching. Real photos of the church family would do most of the work.
- Layout: full-width rows alternating cream, sand and dark, with generous rounded cards and soft shadows.
- Interaction: pill buttons, cards that rise, a scroll tracker in the bottom-left. The sermon finder uses simple filters and tappable book tiles.
Who it suits
Newcomers, families and people unsure about church. It puts welcome and belonging first, then teaching. Best if the church can supply good, natural photography.
Trade-offs
- Depends on photo quality. With weak photos it can look generic.
- Less distinctive than B or C — the rounded, soft style is common across church websites.
